“The Tarot Trumps”

The colours are orange, violet, purplish grey and pearl grey. The flashing colour of orange gives deep vivid blue while the flashing colour for violet is golden yellow. The flashing colours may always be introduced if they bring out the essential colour meaning more clearly. In practise this card usually signifies sympathetic understanding.

The sun shines in the zenith, and beneath is a great winged figure with arms extended, pouring down influences. In the foreground are two human figures, male and female, unveiled before each other, as if Adam and Eve when they first occupied the paradise of the earthly body. Behind the man is the Tree of Life, bearing twelve fruits, and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil is behind the woman; the serpent is twining round it. The figures suggest youth, virginity, innocence and love before it is contaminated by gross material desire. This is in all simplicity the card of human love, here exhibited as part of the way, the truth and the life. It replaces, by recourse to first principles, the old card of marriage, which I have described previously, and the later follies which depicted man between vice and virtue. In a very high sense, the card is a mystery of the Covenant and Sabbath.

The suggestion in respect of the woman is that she signifies that attraction towards the sensitive life which carries within it the idea of the Fall of Man, but she is rather the working of a Secret Law of Providence than a willing and conscious temptress. It is through her imputed lapse that man shall arise ultimately, and only by her can he complete himself. The card is therefore in its way another intimation concerning the great mystery of womanhood. The old meanings fall to pieces of necessity with the old pictures, but even as interpretations of the latter, some of them were of the order of commonplace and others were false in symbolism.

卓球少女愛ちゃんの今

昨日（3 月 8 日）度重なる福原愛さんのニュースに気が引かれつい占ってみた。すると次のような結果であった。 とてもチャーミングで人気者（ 戦車 ）の愛ちゃんにとって、今の結婚生活はとても窮屈なものになっているようである（ 司祭長 、 盃の 5 ）。 そんな気持を抱えたまま母国へ帰り（ 盃の 5 ）新なビジネスに挑戦していく希望に燃えているが（ 杖の 3 ）、その反面家族の気持がバラバラになっている状況が見える（ 盃の A 、 剣の 3 ）。 もしも愛ちゃんが離婚をしたいと思っていたとしても（ 杖の騎士 ）愛ちゃんにとってそれは賢明なこととはいえない。 それは、この結婚は本来これ以上ないくらい富も幸せも築いていける結婚だからである（ 貨の A ）。 それに夫の江氏も家族を何より大切に思っているので、離婚をする気持はみじんもないようである（ 剣の王 ）。 結婚してから 5 年ほど経過しているようであるが、愛ちゃんはいろいろともう少し成長することが必要なのかも知れない（ 戦車 逆位置→手綱を引き締めるべき）。 そうすれば、離婚などせずとも乗り越えられないものではないはずである（ 杖の 9 ）。

未来少年コナンの VHS

たまたま「未来少年コナン」の VHS が手元に入り、全 7 巻セットで全体的に状態も良かったので、市場をちょっとリサーチしたところ取り引きできそうだったのでメルカリに出品してみた。 しばらくしてふと今月中に売れるかな？　という思いが起こり 1 月 9 日にカードを引いてみたら 貨の 3 だった。これは質問者である私の態度を表している。絵の中の 3 人のうち、図面を手にしフードマントを被った人物が私で図面は商品。売れるか？　というよりも、いかほどの値打ちがあるか？　と問いかけているニュアンスのほうが強い。 これだけでは質問の答が読み取れなかった。そこで貨の 3 のウェイトの解説には「隣接するカードによる」とあるので、もう 1 枚引いたら 盃の A だった。 それですぐさま「ああ売れる」という解釈はしずらいが「何がしかの喜びや満足はもたらしてくれそうである」──と、その時は解釈した。 しかし、一昨日（1 月 14 日）、母（僧侶）からコナンのビデオが弟（職人）のものであることを聞かされた。母は「あの子（弟）は大丈夫だよ。（黙って）売っちゃって平気だよ」と言ったが私はそうは行かないと思い、一旦出品を停止して弟にラインで打診した。 すると間もなく弟から「処分してもいいよ！」という返事が来たので再出品した。 結果として、貨の 3 は内部組織的なイメージのカードなので、私、母、弟の 3 者間のやり取りを表しており、盃の A は弟からの「処分してもいいよ！」というメッセージだったといえる。 質問内容（このケースの場合「売れるかな？」）に固執し過すぎると解釈を誤りがちであるという事例。

馴染みのイタリアンレストラン

2 年くらい前にお店がオープンしたての頃から、私がランチに通っている行きつけのイタリアンレストランがある。2 週間ほど前、お店へいつも通りに行ったところ、突然入口の窓に「近々店舗移転のお知らせ」の貼り紙があり衝撃を受けた。 移転先は私の家からは今よりもずっと遠くになる上、さきの 馴染みの中国料理店 閉店の件もあるのでダブルショックの出来事であった。 2 〜 3 月中はまだ今の場所で営業予定だということなので、今日（2 月 19 日）もいつも通り出かけようとしたところ、ふと店舗移転の作業はどのような状況なのだろうか？　と思いカードを 1 枚引いてみた。すると 杖の 6 が正位置で出た。 これは上記に書いた事柄の状況を現している。すなわち「近々店舗移転のお知らせ」を行ったオーナー（馬上の人）とそれに衝撃を受けた私や常連客（歩く人たち）の姿。 そして馬に乗った私の向かう先を 1 枚引いたところ、 吊され人 の逆位置だった。 これは現在の状況である。移転先の改修工事は業者とともにオーナー自身も行っていると聞いていたので、店舗を営業しながらの移転作業は普段とは逆さまの慣れない日常生活であり、今は心身ともにかなりしんどい思いをしているようである。また、私たち常連にとってみれば通いづらくなるといった現実を現している。 最終的にはどう落ち着くのかと最後に 1 枚引いたところ、 盃の 10 の正位置だった。 今の苦しい時期にも次第に見通しがつき、はれて約束の地へ幸せな移転をすることがでそうである。私も含め常連客も時々ひょっこり顔を出してお店との縁は続いていけそうである。 以上を占ってから出かけ、お店でオーナーに移転状況を尋ねたところ、改修工事にだいぶ手間取っているという話をされた。
